Note:
There aren't many rules, but they're IMPORTANT rules. You'll get 3 strikes then you're out. Not following the rules kills a game and causes conflicts. There's no reason that these shouldn't be viable. You joined this game to have fun, and these will help enforce that. If you're asked to leave, know that it's nothing personal.
1. Even though this game is AU, we want to stick to Rowling's world. OC's are allowed to an extent. We would prefer it if the character had a canon last name. There are plenty to choose from in the lexicon. The only exception to this will be the very small ratio of muggles allowed in.
We are allowing one muggle per ten magical characters. The reason for this is: as noted in both books six and seven, the activity of the Death Eaters has expanded beyond the magical world and while the government does "well enough" to cover up the disasters, it's logical to assume that people who have relatives that are magical or witness something particularly damning would be made aware of the magical world and the war that's going on. We will be much harder on these applications than others because their plot has to make sense in order for them to be involved and active amongst everyone else.

This lets people know what's going on in that thread. This is also the format used for messenger logs.
3. Feel free to bring your own plot bunnies. They're cute, adorable, and their tails are ever so fluffy. No one likes their character being overtaken by another player, so make sure it's okay with whomever is included with your plot. In the end, the Mods have the final say in plot. This is only if things are becoming too extreme. We're trying to keep things sane and we'll make decisions on what the plot would do to the community as a whole. This includes things such as pregnancy, drug use, and death. We ask that you run it by us first.
4. There is no limit on characters, but if you cannot keep up with all your characters, you will be asked to drop some.
5. The posting requirement here is once every two weeks whether it be a thread or a journal entry. We will be keeping up on this. You'll receive one warning and if you don't update by next removals you will have to apply again. If it becomes a habit acceptance into the community will be at the discretion of the mods.
*If you're going to be on hiatus that is understandable, just post a comment in the OOC journal and an estimated time you'll be gone or contact a mod. If you're inactive, we reserve the right to remove your character and put it up for adoption. We're lenient, but we need people who want to play. If for some reason you are removed and your character is still available when you return, then speak with one of the mods.
6. No netspeak or short hand,
try to use proper British English, full words and sentences. It's not a must, but it reads well. Grammar is another good thing to check before you post or reply.
7. Be friendly with one another. We're all RP players with that as a common interest. If someone doesn't like your plot and doesn't want to go along with it, then they don't have to. It's as simple as that. You wouldn't want your character thrown into a situation you wouldn't want them in, right? If there's a huge issue, come to the mods about it and we'll try and work things out, but remember that we aren't here to babysit. Drama's lame. Let's avoid it.
8. Instant messaging can be used for threads. Just make sure to post up the conversation in the appropriate Action journal and behind a cut. They should be in story format, so remove the username, and make sure it's understandable as to who is speaking.
SEX. This area covers a couple rules...
9. Everyone likes a little raunchy fun now and again, trust me, it's normal and understandable, but Hogwarts is not a brothel. Students don't have time for lots of sex. Sex between teachers and students is frowned upon in society, such is the same here. While the occasional relationship of the pairing does happen, it usually doesn't happen without character development and consequences. TOO much sex gets BORING. We need plot. If your character ends up doing little more than screwing around, you'll be asked to develop some plot.
10. Slash of both types is allowed. We already have a few homosexual characters, but you also have to take into account a character's canon personality. We can understand that some pairings may stray the characters a bit out of canon, just don't let it stray too far and unrealistically.
If there are any questions don't be afraid to ask!!
